This resolution would condemn recent Iranian human rights abuses and call on the Obama administration to put more pressure on Iran to uphold international human rights standards. It would specifically recommend that the president fully utilize existing legislation to impose sanctions on individual Iranian officials complicit in certain abuses. (See H.R. 2194 of 4/30/09.)
