This annual must-pass bill authorizes all intelligence-related activities. The 1 relevant passage would have required the director of national intelligence and secretary of the treasury to jointly submit a report to Congress assessing the monetary value of all sanctions relief that Iran has received since the agreement had gone into effect that governed the P5+1 negotiations with Iran, which ultimately led to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action of 7/14/2015; whether Iran has used those funds to facilitate human rights abuses, advance its nuclear weapons program, or support any designated terrorist organizations, including Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad; and how much of those funds Iranian officials have diverted into their personal accounts. A similar version of this provision was originally introduced as a separate measure, S. 1682 of 6/25/15, and it eventually passed into law as part of *H.R. 2029 of 4/24/15.
