States that the report of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict, led by Judge Richard Goldstone, which found of evidence of Israel, Hamas, and other Palestinian armed groups having committed war crimes, is ‘irredeemably biased [against Israel] and unworthy of further consideration or legitimacy.’ Judge Goldstone sent a letter to Rep. Ros-Lehtinen and Rep. Howard Berman (D-CA) challenging many of the assertions made in the resolution and highlighting his refusal to lead the mission unless its mandate was broadened to investigate all potential violations of humanitarian law during the conflict. In response Berman and Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) sent a ‘Dear Colleague’ letter to members of the House in which they disputed all of Goldstone’s challenges, but did agree to insert a clause into the resolution recognizing Goldstone’s efforts to alter the report’s original mandate.
